LEXINGTON, Va. -- Jarrod A. Girod, a senior at the Virginia Military Institute and a native of New Concord, Ohio, is among the 525 cadets who were recently named to the dean's list for the first semester of academic year 2010-2011. To be eligible for the dean's list, a cadet must have a term grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and no grade below C.Girod is majoring in chemistry and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry D. Girod. VMI, with an enrollment of 1,500 cadets, is the nation's oldest state-supported military college. U.S. News and World Report has ranked it among the top three public-supported liberal arts colleges in the nation for the last nine years.
