NEW CONCORD -- The New Concord Area Arts and Recreation District (NCAARD) and the Southeastern Ohio Paddlers (SEOP) will host its annual Try a Kayak Day program at the New Concord Reservoir on Sunday (April 25) from 1 to 4 p.m. Kayaks, canoes, equipment, safety gear and snacks are provided free of charge. Expert paddlers will be on hand to teach beginners, give paddling tips and ensure the participants' safety. Try a Kayak Day is open to participants of all ages and skill levels. Parents must accompany children under age 16. Dress appropriately for the weather. In the case of inclement weather, check ncaard.org for program updates. The New Concord Reservoir is located on Shadyside Drive. Parking will be available in the upper and lower lots. Drop-ins are welcome.
