NEW CONCORD -- The New Concord Area Arts and Recreation District (NCAARD) will host two free Saturday night hikes at the New Concord Reservoir this May. A hike for adults and teens will take place on Saturday, May 1 from 7 to 9 p.m. A hike for children and families is scheduled for Saturday, May 15 from 7 to 9 p.m. A parent or guardian must be present with their children during the family program.

The night hikes will feature a mile-long nature hike around the reservoir led by naturalist John Hickenbottom. Participants will also make s'mores around a campfire and star gaze from the reservoir's upper lot. Snacks and drinks are included free of charge.

A cap of 40 people has been placed on each hike, so save your spot by registering at ncaard.org or leave a message at 826-2293.

The New Concord Reservoir is located on Shadyside Drive in New Concord. If inclement weather is forecasted, check ncaard.org or call 826-2293 for program updates.
