Norwich United Methodist Women met April 1 at the home of Sondra Little with 10 members in attendance.
Jane Lowry opened the meeting by reading a poem titled, "Beauty of the Land." Devotions were read by Karen Boehm, which were five things to give up during Lent.
Reba Knicely led the program, "Practice of Lent."
The group recited the Purpose and answered roll call by reciting a Bible verse.
The secretary's and treasurer's reports were read.
Members had a stand during a Rogers auction, also a sunrise service was held.
Cards were sent to shut-ins. The meeting concluded with prayer.
Lisa West and Little were hostesses.
Next meeting will be 7:30 p.m. May 6 at the Lowry home.
Willing Workers
West Union Willing Workers met April 8 at the home of June and Karen Bash with eight members in attendance.
Jane Lowry opened the meeting by reading a poem by Helen Steiner Rice.
Martha Tomson read scripture from John 20. Helen Richey read from a selection from The Upper Room.
Members answered roll call by telling what jobs they put off doing.
Cards were sent to shut-ins and those celebrating an April birthday.
Anita Kreager won the door prize. Lowry led a game on wild flowers.
The meeting concluded with the group reciting The Lord's Prayer.
Next meeting will be noon on May 11 at the home of Karen Boehm.
Homemakers
New Concord and Rix Mills Homemakers met recently at College Drive Presbyterian Church in New Concord.
There were seven club members in attendance.
Jane Lowry served as hostess for the carry-in lunch.
The group recited the Homemakers Creed.
