4-H Club news

NEW CONCORD — The Shady Valley Shamrocks 4-H Club met April 27 at the New Concord United Methodist Church with President Brad Comisford in charge of the meeting. 

 

Casey Art gave a safety report on lawn mower safety.

It was announced that approximately $250 was raised during the recent Flower Power fund-raiser. A lollipop sale is also planned, as well as a fall bulb sale.

Club members decided to paint the garage of an elderly woman in Cambridge one Saturday. They are also collecting pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. Club members may also decide to visit the Ronald McDonald House in Columbus as well as prepare the residents a meal. 

Club members discussed club T-shirts and plans for a float in the fair’s parade. 

Members watched a video on parliamentary procedure.

Snacks were provided by the Comisford family. 

Meanwhile, the cloverbuds discussed sever weather safety and made tornadoes in a jar.

The club’s next meeting will be Tuesday, May 11 at 7 p.m. at the Cambridge City Park small pavilion (next to the pond and new playground equipment).
