United Methodist Women meet

New Concord United Methodist Women met June 3 in the church parlor with eight members in attendance.

Betty Lou LePage led the program, “Imagination.” A lively group discussion followed.

President Sylvia Bates opened the business meeting and the group recited The Purpose.

In honor of Flag Day on June 14, Bates read a poem titled, “God Bless America.”

The secretary’s and treasurer’s reports were read and approved.

Joys and concerns were expressed for members and guests.

Four women attended the district gathering in Senecaville on April 18, where the unit received a certificate for being a Five Star Unit. Also, four members attended Guest Night at Old Washington on April 20.

Mary Jo Moody thanked everyone who contributed food and time for Compass training on May 8. UMW will host Hebrews Coffee Hour during October. The group was reminded of Schools of Mission. Guest Night will be Oct. 7 with Bob Welsh as speaker.

Pat Taylor will lead the meeting Sept. 2 with Betty Richards hosting. Refreshments were served by Bates and Taylor.
