Johnsons have 50th anniversary

William and Patsy Johnson of Cambridge celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary July 16, 2010.

On July 16, 1960, Patsy Rose, daughter of the late Charles and Leanna Rose, and William Johnson, son of Helen Johnson and the late William A. Johnson, were united in marriage at Middlebourne United Methodist Church.

The Rev. J.M. Hypes officiated the ceremony.

Janice Agler and Curtis Harper attended the couple.

Mrs. Johnson is a homemaker and a member of Alpha Omega Circle.

Mr. Johnson is a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served at Andrews Air Force Base from 1961 to 1965. He worked at Navy Finance Center and retired in 1994 as director of information processing, Cleveland Center. He is known around the Cambridge area as the chaplain at Southeastern Med and Hospice of Guernsey. He served as pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Cambridge from 2001-2009, and is currently supply pastor and chair of the lay pastor program of Muskingum Valley Presbytery. He is past president of Cambridge Rotary Club. He has been honored with Award of Merit and Silver Beaver by Boy Scouts of America.

The couple are members of First Presbyterian Church, Cambridge.

They have three sons, Roger (Pearl) Johnson of Orlando, Fla., Randy (Christie) Johnson of Greensburg, Pa., and the late William C. Johnson II.

Completing the family circle are three grandchildren, Sylvie, Sapphire and Luke.

The couple are planning a trip to Hawaii to celebrate the special occasion.
