United Methodist Women meet

New Concord United Methodist Women met Sept. 2 with 12 members in attendance.

The group recited the Purpose, followed by President Sylvia Bates reading, “You Can Do Anything.”

The secretary’s and treasurer’s reports were read and approved.

Joys and concerns for many members and friends were expressed.

Guest Night will be Sept. 8 at Batesville, also on Sept. 27 at Byesville Main Avenue Church.

The unit will entertain during Guest Night on Oct. 6, with Bob Welsh speaking.

Members will have charge of Hebrews Coffee Hour each Sunday in October.

Mary Jo Moody reported on the district team meeting she attended in Batesville.

Southern Hills District meeting will be Oct. 17 in Chandlersville, and the annual celebration at Cleveland Church of the Savior will be Oct. 8-9.

The program, “For the Love of God: John’s Letters,” was led by Pat Taylor. She was assisted by Carol Cubbison, Betty Lou LePage and Moody, Loreita Slack. Clyta Young played the piano.

Bates, Moody and Betty Richards served as hostesses.
