New Concord United Methodist Women met Nov. 4 with 12 members in attendance.
The meeting opened with the group reciting the Purpose.
President Sylvia Bates read a Thanksgiving poem. The secretary’s and treasurer’s reports were read and approved. Joys and concerns for many members and friends were expressed. There were five members who attended Guest Night at Batesville, and six attended Byesville Guest Night. Mary Jo Moody and Bates reported on the District meeting on Oct. 17 in Chandlersville.
Moody also gave a report on the annual meeting Oct. 8-9 in Cleveland. The stockings with dimes for charities will be turned in before the December meeting.
A meeting to set up the 2011 program book will be Oct. 17. The 2011 district pledge was established.
Officers for 2011 are: President Sylvia Bates; Vice President Betty Richards; Honorary Vice President Sherri Sullivan; Secretary Pat Taylor; Treasurer Mary Jo Moody; nominating, Betty Lou LePage; spiritual growth, Norma Clevenger; membership, Genny LePage; education, Loreita Slack; program resources, Clyta Young; and publicity, Pat Taylor.
Betty Richards led the Thank Offering program, with several members assisting.
Young and LePage served as hostesses.
Next meeting will be a covered-dish dinner at 6 p.m. on Dec. 2. Slack will lead the program, “Advent, O’ Holy Days.”
