New singers join Coshocton Community Choir

COSHOCTON -- The Coshocton Community Choir recently welcomed new members to its 100-voice choir.

Fourteen new and returning singers from Coshocton and surrounding counties will be participating in the upcoming Rise and Follow Christmas Concert on Dec. 5. They include Courtney Bairas, Laura McClain, Lexy Hampton, Brian O'Connor, Luke Widder, Chris McVay, Brad Harvey, Justin Swails, Les Widder, Michael Ondayko, Tyler Shumaker, Jeff Dawson, Kyle Conrad, Trent Adams, Brandon Gurza and John Bauchmoyer.

The Coshocton Community Choir actually includes members from not only Coshocton County but throughout Central Ohio including Newcomerstown, Dover, Mt. Vernon, Wooster, Zanesville, Cambridge, Pataskala, Newark, East Liverpool, Mt. Gilead, Columbus, New Concord and Reynoldsburg. It includes members from high school age through senior citizens.

The choir was founded by and is conducted by Charles R. Snyder, who is highly respected throughout the state. He is also the conductor of the 200-voice All-Ohio Youth Choir that performs each year at the Ohio State Fair. The Coshocton Community Choir is now is it 40th season, and has commissioned several arrangements from well-known composers.

The annual Fund Campaign is also under way for the Coshocton Community Choir. Choir sponsors receive complimentary tickets to the Choir's concerts.

The Coshocton Community Choir's Festival Christmas Concert will be Sunday, Dec. 5 at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at Coshocton High School's McKinley Auditorium. The concert will feature the adult choir, the children's choir and the youth choral. Tickets for the Rise and Follow Festival Concert are $10 for adults and $5 for students and are available at the door.

Tickets will also be available from these outlets: Liberty House in Roscoe Village; Good News Bookstore, Buehlers, and Marilyn's Natural Foods in Coshocton; Home Loan Savings Bank in West Lafayette and Baker's Foods in Newcomerstown.
