NEW CONCORD -- A Cambridge woman taken into custody in the village on Thursday night was to appear for a preliminary hearing in Muskingum County Court on Friday.

Pam Pifer was charged with driving under suspension, driving under the influence of drugs and child endangerment, New Concord Police Chief Ed Stewart said.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on a van driven by Pifer at 11:48 p.m. Thursday. Also in the van were twin 3-year-old boys.

The van driven by Pifer had "Lighthouse Baptist Church" inscribed on the door, but the vehicle had been sold and no longer belonged to the church, Stewart said.

Authorities are awaiting the results of laboratory testing, he said.

The traffic stop took place on Main Street.
