Fire Prevention Officer Jeff Hickenbottom from Cassell Station Volunteer Fire Department attended the April meeting of the Adams Township trustees.
The fire department and township are cooperating to purchase smoke detectors for townships residents. Any Adams Township resident is welcome to receive a smoke detector at no charge. A member of the fire department will install the detectors. Interested residents are asked to call either 255-7100 or 432-5898 to request a detector.
The fiscal officer reported briefly on the CDBG hearing she attended and trustee Douglas Derry spoke about the health department meeting he attended.
The fiscal officer attended the 11th Annual Local Government Official's Conference in Columbus April 7 and 8.
Cemetery mowing will be provided this year by Ross' Mowing and Rita Kuhn.
The township received a "thank you" letter from Guernsey-Muskingum Electric Cooperative for their assistance during February's snowy weather.
A not of thanks was also received from the residents of Ashwood Acres for cinder removal.
Township Operator Wayne Mourer reported that sweeping of roadways is done and he will work to repair the township's grader.
Due to the May 4 primary election, the trustees' May meeting has been rescheduled to 7 p.m. May 3. The meetings are held at the township building on Bobs Run Road and are open to the public.
