NEW CONCORD -- Anticipation continues to grow as the New Concord Area Pool prepares to open for the season in less than two months.Supporters of NCAP expect to build on last year's momentum from a rejuvenated interest in the pool. Already they have a fund-raising event slated (see sidebar) to continue raising money for further improvements. The pool's opening day will be June 9."We're offering 2010 season passes," said Erin Stevic, program director of the New Concord Area Arts and Recreation District. "Those who act before May 15 will get last year's rates."Season passes entitle the owners to take part in open swim sessions daily for no additional charge. The passes are individual (student, adult and senior citizen) and three levels of family (for two or three family members, for four or five family members or for six or more family members). Rates and additional information are available at the Web site, ncaard.org."On the family passes, we ask that at least one adult be listed," Stevic said. "Children under 12 years old have to be accompanied by an adult."Daily admission fees have been lowered for younger children. Admission for children 3 or 4 years old will be $2.50; infants to 2 year olds will be admitted free. Daily admission for all other ages is $5.Pool hours will be for 12:30 to 8 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday and from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays through Saturdays. The pool is closed on Sundays.
