NEW CONCORD — Guernsey-Muskingum Electric Cooperative Inc. is offering a reward of $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any person or persons involved in theft of copper wire from the Cooperative’s Cumberland substation.

The Cumberland substation is located on Zeno Road in Spencer Township, Guernsey County.

This theft occurred sometime this week.

“Be advised that anyone entering an electrical substation risks severe injury or death from electrocution," Cooperative officials said.

"Thieves cut the fence within a few feet of a warning sign. By reporting this crime or any suspicious entry into a substation, you might be saving a life.”

Report any information to the Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office at 439-4455.
