Adams Township trustees had a reorganizational meeting followed

Adams Township trustees had a reorganizational meeting followed by a regular meeting on Jan. 4.The following actions took place:* A contract was signed with Cassell Station Volunteer Fire department to provide fire protection. Last month a contract was signed with Village of New Concord for the same purpose.* The meeting dates and time will remain the first Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. and be held in the township building on Bobs Run Road.* Jeff Hickenbottom was again appointed fire prevention officer.* Rates for employees and laborers were set and trustees and fiscal officer will receive wages as outlined by Ohio Township Association. Trustees will keep calendars and be paid accordingly from the general and road funds.* Bids will be taken for cemetery mowing.* Inventory was updated.* Permanent appropriations were approved for 2011.* David Mitchell was elected president of the board and Douglas Derry was elected vice president. William Stanley is the third trustee.* Derry gave a report on the Guernsey County Trustees and Clerks Association meeting he attended in December.* Road conditions and equipment issues were discussed.Next meeting of Adams Township trustees will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1.
