Sweet Adelines say good-bye to director

Published:

Friendship VII Chorus gathered recently to say thank you and farewell to their director Joyce Snyder. After 11 years at the helm, Joyce has decided to retire from directing the chorus. In the years since she started directing it, the chorus has achieved two first- and three second-place awards at the Sweet Adelines regional competition. In addition, Friendship VII puts on annual shows and performs at numerous community events throughout the region.

Members shared good food and memories, and presented Joyce with a memorial plaque. “The knowledge and energy that Joyce brought to the chorus will be sorely missed, but the friendships we’ve forged will endure,” remarked member Bonnie Bean.

Assistant director, Rita Tucker, has agreed to serve as interim director until a permanent replacement can be found.
