The Ohio State Highway Patrol has cited a Cambridge man for driving left of center following a head-on collision last week on Glenn Highway near the Route 723 interchange west of Cambridge.
Devon Downard, 20, was issued the citation by troopers after allegedly swerving his westbound vehicle into the eastbound passing lane and striking a vehicle driven by Rachel Jordan, 26, Cambridge, head-on at approximately 12:50 p.m. on Dec. 22.
It was initially reported in The Daily Jeffersonian, based on information provided at the crash scene, that the vehicle driven by Jordan had turned left and collided head-on with the vehicle driven east on Glenn Highway (U.S. 22/40) by Downard.
Neither driver was identified at that time.
Jordan, Downard and a passenger in the Downard vehicle, a 16-year-old Cambridge resident, suffered injuries in the accident.
All three individuals reportedly suffered incapacitating injuries. They were transported by United Ambulance to Southeastern Med, where they were treated and later released.
Following the collision, the vehicle driven by Downard reportedly caught fire.
The flames were reportedly extinguished by individuals from two nearby businesses using fire extinguishers.
Both vehicles sustained extensive damage.
