Book Lovers Calendar for 2012 available

ZANESVILLE The Friends of the Muskingum County Library System have a limited supply of 2012 Book Lovers Calendars available for $5 per calendar.

Purchase your calendar today at John McIntire Library, in the Friends Book Store or by contacting Public Relations at 740-453-0391, ext. 113 or 131.

All proceeds benefit the Muskingum County Library System.

Book about veterans stories on sale

Stories of veterans from the East Muskingum area have been collected and printed in a book.

To view a display copy, visit Johns Barber Shop, Main Street, New Concord.

The printing cost is $15.

If interested in purchasing a copy, tell John or call Wendell Litt at 826-7010.

Singspiration set

ZANESVILLE A singspiration is set for Sunday, Jan. 15 at 4 p.m. at the John McIntire Library Auditorium, Zanesville. The singspiration is in celebration of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

It will feature the combined voices of the Singspiration Choir and a special message commemorating and celebrating Dr. Kings contributions.

It is free and open to the public.

Book discussion set

NEW CONCORD The New Concord Branch Library will have a book discussion on Still Alice on Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 5:30 p.m.

Fifty-year old Alice Howland, a Harvard professor of cognitive psychology, is at the top of her game her kids are grown, her marriage is secure, and her career is on fire. After three months of forgetfulness, she finds herself in the rapidly downward spiral of early onset of Alzheimers disease.

Registered participants will be loaned a free copy of the book. To register, call 826-4184.

Winter session story time

ZANESVILLE Story time for the winter session will be the week of Jan. 23 through the week of Feb. 13.

Registration for the four-week winter session opens Tuesday, Jan. 17 at the John McIntire Library in Zanesville. Pre-school story times are presented at the John McIntire Library and the New Concord Branch Library. Contact the library where you are interested in participating for more information and to register. Story time is open to the public. Registration is required, limited and free of charge.

Seashell

presentation

ZANESVILLE Sandy Hamilton is presenting a program about seashells at the John McIntire Library in Zanesville on Thursday, Jan. 19 at 6:30 p.m. for children in kindergarten through fifth grade.

Participants will see, hold and learn about seashells at this free, interactive library program.

Registration is required and may be completed by contacting the Childrens Department at 740-453-0391, ext. 115
