The Adams Township Board of Trustees re-appointed Jeff Hickenbottom as fire prevention officer for the township when trustees met in regular session recently.
In another fire prevention matter, trustees approved a contract with the Cassell Station Volunteer Fire Department. The township has a similar contract with the Village of New Concord.
Attending the meeting was Guernsey County Recorder Colleen Wheatley, who is seeking re-election. She reported on how busy her office has gotten because of the oil and gas companies doing title searches with respect to leasing mineral rights. Wheatley also spoke about improvements she would like to make in her department.
Trustees said they have nearly completed the inventory of road signs in the township. They also are making a list of stop signs that need to be replaced to meet the federal requirement for signs with higher reflectivity.
The fiscal officer reported briefly on a seminar she had attended, a seminar about the local government innovation funds.
In other action, trustees:
Discussed equipment needs and road conditions.
Reported they will begin accepting bids for cemetery mowing. Anyone wishing more details should contact the fiscal officer, 432-3745.
Changed the date of the next meeting to March 5 at 7 p.m. The change was made because of the upcoming primary election.
