Boys Scouts visit township meeting for merit badge work

Boy Scouts Zach Cole, Mayson Hursey, Seth Johnson and Josh Mihalik of Troop 542, Byesville, were special guests when the Adams Township Board of Trustees met in March. Also attending were three of the troops Scout leaders.

The Scouts were working on their citizen and community merit badges and attended the meeting to learn about local government.

Among the items on the agenda were:

Report of the replacement of a fire hydrant on Peters Creek Road.

Material for construction of an addition to the Township garage has been delivered and construction is underway. Trustees explained that the extra space will be used to house equipment.

The fiscal officer reported on a meeting with Staley Communications.

The fiscal officer reported on the quarterly meeting of the emergency management agency.

Trustees discussed equipment issues. They currently are considering the replacement of a worn-out backhoe.

Report that the stone supply is well stocked, but 12-inch and 18-inch culvert needs to be ordered.

Trustee David Mitchell will attend the Health Department District Council meeting on March 15.

The Board of Trustees is continuing to accept bids on a contract for mowing of the cemeteries. For information, call the fiscal officer, 432-3745.
