NEW CONCORD Muskingum University officials continued to investigate vandalism discovered recently at a campus housing unit.

During Muskingum Universitys spring break, said Director of Public Relations Janice Tucker McCloud, a townhouse was vandalized, with offensive language spray painted on walls. Muskingum University issued a crime alert on Friday, March 9.

The mother of the student, a senior at the university, said her son received telephone calls from the universitys Student Life organization and another student while at home in Georgia alerting him to the vandalsim. She said they indicated racial epithets were spray-painted on the dorm room door and room walls, as well as hate and K.K.K.

We take this incident very seriously, Tucker McCloud said. University Police, along with other campus officials, will continue to investigate the matter.

The students mother added her son is unsure at this time if his personal property in the room sustained damage.
