NEW CONCORD — Celebrate New Concord, the summer entertainment series now in its 13th year, will present an evening of jazz favorites with the group Seven on Tuesday, Aug. 6, at 7 p.m. in Village Park in downtown New Concord.

This event is free and open to the public. Visitors are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating. In the event of rain, the performance will be moved into the firehouse at the park. Food service will be provided by Ruritan, with proceeds benefitting the New Concord Food Pantry.

Selections for the performance will vary from swing to Bossa Nova and ballads to blues.

Seven originally appeared at Celebrate New Concord as the Muskingum Jazz Group. Led by trumpeter Don Kason, the group’s members include Len Thomas, keyboards;  Dave Jacobs, electric bass; Kenny Joseph, electric guitar; Bill Armstrong, drums; Steve Johnson, saxophone and vocalist Jennifer Anderson.
