Farewell to the print Jon Jee

By BAILEY BEISSER Yearbook Editor Published: December 17, 2016 12:00 PM

I have spent the last two years as John Glenn High School’s yearbook editor. I have been a part of the media program since my sophomore year. When I signed up for this class, I knew I had no friends in it, and honestly I had no clue who even taught it. I was in for a surprise.

My three years spent in this publications program have been much more than yearbook editing and writing stories for the paper, but nonetheless, these things have become two of my favorite things to do. Whether it is trying to write a golf story with virtually no knowledge of golf, trying to create a swim page with quite literally no photos, or, especially writing stories on any and everything (literally) relating to BaAAndD, which I have never ever participated in, these tasks have always been so fun and filled with joy coming from those surrounding me, who became my best friends before I knew it.It is no secret by now that our paper, the Jon Jee, will no longer be printed. I keep telling myself that we are not finished; we are just starting our own new beginning. I am looking forward to this change, though it may be a challenge and we are not quite sure what to expect. But part of me can’t help but feel sad when remembering I will never open one of those papers and see a story of mine published alongside some of my best friends’ ever again.
