Willing Workers West Union Willing Workers met Oct. 8 at Theo's in Cambridge, with 13 members and 13 guests in attendance to celebrate the 85th anniversary of the club. Jane Lowry opened with a poem and prayer. Quotes were read from "Ray's of Sunshine," which was published by Funeral Director Robert Mock in March 1929. In keeping with the theme for the year, which was hats, each member made a Minnie Pearl hat. Ginger Sherman of Michigan won the hat contest, Anita Kreager won second place, and Karen Boehm won third. Mary Evelyn Scott provided entertainment as she portrayed Minnie Pearl. Boehm offered a reading and the history of the club. Following dinner and a time of picture taking, the celebration concluded with The Lord's Prayer. Next meeting will be noon on Nov. 12 at the home of Jeanette Miller. Martha Tomson will host. UMW Norwich United Methodist Women met recently at New Concord UM Church with nine members in attendance for a fall meeting. The group enjoyed good food and entertainment.
