Old Bloomer Candy property purchased

ZANESVILLE -- Zanesville Welfare Organization and Goodwill Industries, Inc. purchased all of the real estate of the Old Bloomer Candy Co., 3600 and 3610 West Pike, Zanesville, on Jan. 8.

During January and February, Goodwill will rent the property to the New Bloomer Candy Co. which will use it to package and ship products to fulfill established contracts.

Goodwill Industries will begin renovations on the real estate facilities in March, once the New Bloomer Candy Co. moves to its permanent location.

West Pike faciltiies will be renovated to accommodate Goodwill Mission Programming including Workforce Development, skills training, employment services and corporate offices, recycling programs and contact operations.

A community open house of the West Pike property will be held later this year.
