Dr. William E. Wymer

CANTON, Mass. -- Dr. William E. Wymer, 77, of Canton, Mass., passed away Jan. 23, 2010, at the VA Medical Center in West Roxbury.

Born and raised in New Concord, Ohio, son of the late Shorty and Louella Wymer, he graduated from New Concord High School and Muskingum College in Ohio.

Dr. Wymer was a retired Air Force colonel, where he served as a dentist in Germany, and at the White House for President Nixon and President Ford and their staffs.

He was the co-founder and active member of the Aphasia Community Resource Center in Boston and a member of the Blue Hill Masonic Lodge in Canton.

He was the beloved husband of Barbara L. (Munson). Father of Kimberly Munson Sheehy of Canton and Greg William Wymer and his wife, Lisa of Brookline. Grandfather of Daniel Munson Sheehy of Canton and Alexander William Wymer of Brookline. Brother of Mary Lou Ferguson of New Concord, Ohio, and Richard D. Wymer of Montgomery, Ala.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Aphasia Community Resource Center c/o Boston University Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, 635 Commonwealth Ave., Boston MA 02215, or First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church, 1508 Washington St., Canton, MA 02021.
