ELIZABETH ANN OSBORNE 1942-2009

NEW CONCORD -- Elizabeth Ann Osborne, 67, of 4205 Windsor Bridge Place, New Albany, formerly of New Concord, died at 5:25 p.m. on Sunday (July l2, 2009) at Broadview Health Center, New Albany, following a brief battle with cancer. She was born Jan. l7, 1942, in East Cleveland, a daughter of the late Charles and Hannah Bailey Weeks. Mrs. Osborne graduated in l967 from Muskingum College with a Bachelor of Education degree and earned her Masters of Education degree from Lake Erie College. For 18 years she was a teacher in East Muskingum, Fremont, Perry Local in Lake County, and Ledgemont Local in Geauga County. She was a retired executive director of the Guernsey County Cancer Society and was a current board member. Her hobbies included gardening, reading, and extensive travel with her husband and her lifelong friend and college roommate, Helen Neely. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Larry Osborne; daughter, Beth Osborne, both of the home; sons, Stephen Osborne, Dublin, Scott (Rebecca) Osborne, New Albany; grandson, Jack Scharfe, New Albany; brother, Theodore (Marilyn) Weeks, Clearwater, Fla.; brothers-in-law, Gene (Pat) Osborne, Barnesville, and Jim Osborne, Willowick. Services were Thursday, July 16, at Mock-Miller Funeral Home, 63 W. Main St., New Concord, with Minister Wayne Clark officiating. Private burial was in Eastern Cemetery, Summerfield.
