ZANESVILLE -- Richard E. "Dick" Gebhart, 80, of Zanesville, died Saturday (Jan. 23, 2010) at 11:27 a.m. at Primrose Retirement Community.
He was born Feb. 6, 1929, in Zanesville, son of the late Fred E. and Faye E. Smith Gebhart.
Mr. Gebhart was a machinist for the Stewart Glapat Corporation and a former insurance agent.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, who served in the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion. He also loved to hunt, fish and square dance.
Surviving are three sons, Bruce E. (Marsha) Gebhart of New Concord, Richard E. (Denise) Gebhart Jr. of Zanesville and Scott E. (Debbie) Gebhart of Cambridge; two daughters, Teresa (Lenny) Rosser of Norwich and Maria (Rob) Montgomery of Zanesville; a brother, Charles E. (Del) Gebhart of Norwalk, Calif.; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve E. Bollinger Gebhart, on March 15, 1983; a daughter, Constance Christ; a brother, James E. Gebhart; and a grandson, Benjamin Gebhart.
Calling hours were Jan. 26, 2010, at the New Hope Full Gospel Church, 3550 East Pike, Zanesville.
A Celebration of Life service was Jan. 27 at the church with Pastor Joe DiVincenzo officiating.
The United States Air Force, with the assistance of VFW George Selsam Post 1058, conducted full military rites at the church.
Burial will take place at a later date in Mt. Olive Cemetery.
Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville, is entrusted with all the arrangements.

If flowers are preferred, they may be sent to the New Hope Full Gospel Church, 3550 East Pike, after noon on Tuesday.
