Alvin L. Fritter

Alvin L. Fritter, 60, of New Concord, died Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at 5:30 p.m. at The Ohio State University Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in a logging accident on Tuesday.

Mr. Fritter was born Nov. 1, 1949, in Zanesville, the son of the late Clovis DuBouis and Florence Esther Weigand Fritter. He graduated from John Glenn High School in 1967 and was owner and operator of Alvin L. Fritter Logging, Ltd. for 43 years. He also owned the Fritter Farm along with his loving wife, Teresa. He attended the New Concord United Methodist Church.

Alvin was married to Teresa (Lloyd) Fritter on June 18, 1982. He is survived by his wife, Teresa; three sons and their wives, Tracy and Shelly Fritter of Zanesville, Douglas and Kristin Fritter of Dresden and Justin and Cindy Rodgers of Zanesville; by his loving and "light of his life" grandchildren, Ashley, Aidan, Aubrey and Lathan Fritter and one adorable great-grandson, Madden Fritter; a sister, Mary Esther (Dale) Ryan; a brother, Roger Dean (Marsha) Fritter; and several nieces and nephews, and many close friends.

A brother, Billy Fritter is deceased.

Funeral services were April 26, 2010, at the New Concord United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Sullivan officiating. The Mock-Miller Funeral Home in New Concord was in charge of arrangements.

Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, New Concord.
