Marjorie Anne Jardine Bricker, 81, of Norwich, passed away on Tuesday (June 22, 2010) on the farm she loved.
She was born Jan. 10, 1929, in Youngstown, daughter of John W. and Isabel Campbell Jardine.
Mrs. Bricker graduated from high school at Boardman High School earned a bachelor's degree from Muskingum College, where she met and married her husband of nearly 59 years, Paul A. Bricker.
She is survived by her husband, Paul, and three children, Paula Bricker Erickson (Chuck), Mary Bricker (Bob), and Andy Bricker (Jodi). She adored her six grandchildren, Matthew Erickson (Reanna Wesley), Laura Myers (Chris), Abbey, Katie and Isabel Bricker, and Sarah Brickersmith.
Marjorie taught physical education at New Concord Elementary School, Muskingum College and Zanesville High School, where she retired after 20 years. She was a long time advocate of women's sports and coached basketball during her tenure at ZHS. She was known for her warm heart and giving spirit, and as a teacher, spent hours caring for and providing counsel to her students. After retirement, she loved working on the farm with her husband Paul, and was known by many as the "Sticky Buns Lady" for her delectable treats. She was a long time member of the New Concord Mother's Club and College Drive Presbyterian Church, where she was and elder and sang in the choir.
A memorial service was June 26 at College Drive Presbyterian Church in New Concord, where the family received friends after the service.
In keeping with her generous spirit and her belief in reusing and recycling, Marge has given her body to the Ohio State College of Medicine, where she continues to teach today.
