Denzil E. Derry

NEW CONCORD — Denzil E. Derry, 88, of New Concord, passed away at 4:50 p.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010, at The Beckett House, New Concord. 

 

He was born Dec. 24, 1921, in Zanesville, a son of the late John and Luna Allison Derry.

He retired as a self-employed truck driver.

He is survived by his daughter, Joy (Jim) of New Concord; son, Randy (Sue) of New Concord; sisters, Ernestine Bogle, Rita Blancett, Lita Vance and Isabell Ross; brother, Ellis Derry; four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Bates Derry, who passed away Nov. 30, 2006.

Also deceased are three sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services were July 7 at the Mock-Miller Funeral Home, 63 W. Main St., New Concord, with Pastor Ken Blood officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, south of New Concord.
