Boyd H. Ross, 91, of New Concord, passed away Monday, September 9, 2013, at Sunrise of Worthington, surrounded by his family.
He was born June 19, 1922, in Columbus, a son of the late Fred W. and Edna Young Ross. He graduated in 1940 from Cumberland High School, and attended The Ohio State University where he earned a degree in Business Administration in 1947. He was a retired loan officer of the Buckeye Federal Savings and Loan of Columbus.
Boyd was an army veteran of World War II, serving from 1942-1945 in an artillery company. He was a participant in the Battle of the Bulge.
He is survived by his wife, Corinne Rex Ross, whom he married December 29, 1951; daughters, Karen A. Ross of Worthington and Colleen D. Ross of Columbus; two grandchildren, Grace and Maddie; a special friend, Jane Edwards, who was like a third daughter, and his beloved dog, Bert.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nina Chase, and a brother, Dale Ross.
Friends may call Thursday, September 12, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Mock-Miller Funeral Home, 63 West Main Street, New Concord. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Friday, September 13, at the Cumberland Cemetery with Reverend Elizabeth Reed officiating. The procession will leave from the Mock-Miller Funeral Home at 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, The American Cancer Society, or the Humane Society.
