I was talking to one of my "Six Sisters" recently and she filled me in on the details of the first of a series of videos she has made on YouTube.
(What's a "Six Sister?" Well, back in fifth grade my closest friends and I were in Mrs. Ferguson's class at Park Elementary School. We were able to choose with whom our desks would be grouped so of course we all chose each other. Then each group was to pick a name. There were six of us and we were all like sisters, so the name fit perfectly.)
Anyway, I was talking to Josey (Josey Roberts that is, famous local actress) and she told me about her video. You can watch the video at http://www.youtube.com/user/puddinheadbros.
Here is what she said: The "Human Bones" storyline actually came about because I was telling friends of mine, Matt and Jeff, that while I was home for Christmas, my family and I ate some dubious chicken, in which there were creepy, un-chickenlike bones. Both Matt and Jeff have experience in Internet entertainment and together, Matt and Jeff created their own Production Company, Puddinhead Bros. The latest new work is "Human Bones," which seems like a stand-alone short, but is actually the beginning of a three-episode arc that kicks off an episodic sketch series. We hope to have the next episode up by mid March. All videos can see seen at http://www.youtube.com/user/puddinheadbros.
Matt has written for and acted in the pioneering internet sitcom "The Burg" a popular Internet sitcom (www.theburg.tv), and "All's Faire," an Internet sitcom about a Renaissance Faire (www.allsfaire.tv).
OK. The other night while I was watching ER (one of my favorite shows on TV right now!) on the Columbus station. A commercial came on for the University of Toledo. The funny thing was that one of the girls who was featured on the commercial was Rekha Tripathi Chaudhary! (Rekha is the sister of another of the Six Sisters, Veena!) I immediately called Veena and she laughed. She said that the commercial plays all the time in Toledo and she has seen it in Columbus but she hadn't heard of anyone seeing it in Cambridge.
After the useful tips ran in last week's Junk Drawer, I received a tip from Hugh Ramage. He said, "Save your rubber bands! You don't need them to open jars, just run the jar under HOT water then open. Just make sure you are wearing leather gloves, because the jar might break!"
Do you know what today is? Today is Fairy Tale Day! I am a big fan of Fairy Tales ... Cinderella is my all time fave! Today is a great opportunity to read your kids. If the kids aren't around, its certainly okay to read them alone.
To qualify as a fairy tale, a story does not have to begin with "Once upon a time ..." But, they usually do. It is a requirement that the story has a happy ending. There's nothing better than a good story that ends with "and they all lived happily ever after."
Today is also the opening of Disney on Ice: A Disneyland Adventure! A great way to celebrate Fairy Tale Day would be to see a fairy tale come to life on ice ... we are taking the kids there tonight!
And tomorrow is Polar Bear Day, No Brainer Day and, oh yeah ... Aaron's 25th birthday! Happy birthday!
