John Glenn collects win No. 6

CROOKSVILLE -- John Glenn High made the trip to Crooksville a worthwhile one on a snowy Tuesday night as the Muskies stayed unbeaten in Muskingum Valley League play with a 53-39 victory over the Ceramics.

John Glenn (6-1, 5-0 MVL) vaulted to a 17-8 first quarter lead and never looked back. Coach Greg Woodard's squad increased the gap to 29-16 by halftime and 36-22 after three rounds before each side tallied 17 points in the fourth quarter.

Senior Rob Metry paced John Glenn with a 14-point outing while junior Jake Heagen contributed a double-double with 13 tallies and 11 along with five assists. Tyler Scurlock chipped in 10 points while Guy Long had five assists, four rebounds and four steals.

John Glenn connected on 19-of-37 field goal attempts and 12-of-19 free throws. The Muskies were charted with 27 rebounds and 16 turnovers.

For Crooksville (2-7, 1-5 MVL), Kessler Spung tallied 16 points while Slade Mumford had 15 points and eight rebounds.

The Ceramics canned 15-of-49 action shots and 7-of-17 at the charity stripe while grabbing 18 rebounds and turning the ball over 18 times.
