NEW CONCORD --The Muskingum University womens' basketball team stormed past visiting Trine Wednesday 54-47, behind a career-high 22 points and 17 rebounds from forward Amanda Dobbins. Muskingum (6-5) battled out to a 25-17 lead at halftime, forcing 15 first-half turnovers by Trine (5-6). The Lady Muskies were able to hang on to the lead throughout the closing half, even leading by as many as 17 (52-35). As part of her performance, Dobbins also went 10-of-11 from the free-throw line and logged four steals and two assists. Carissa Bosch added nine points, seven steals, and two rebounds; Suzanne Nichols contributed with seven points and four assists; and Rachel Buirley and Sydney Lapp each registered five markers. Trine was led by Kristen Julian's 14 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists, while Kelly Costello scored 10 points. Muskingum hit 18-of-54 shots from the field for a 33 percent measure, and 15-of-21 free-throw attempts (71 percent). Trine went 18-of-48 from the floor (37 percent) and converted 7-of-15 foul shots for a 46 percent effort. NEXT-- Muskingum travels to Kenyon College Saturday at 2 p.m.
