Muskingum sweeps

KENT -- Muskingum University picked up a doubleheader sweep against Case Western on Monday, winning by 3-1 and 3-2 scores. In game one, Muskingum got a complete-game pitching effort from Michael Congrove. He struck out three and walked four while spacing six hits. Brock Whiteman led Muskingum with a double, single and an RBI; Wes Carder had two singles and Tyler Hardcastle had a double and two RBI. In game two, the Muskies plated a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to complete the twinbill seep. Tyler Stevens delievered an RBI single in the frame, and Forrest Wright tallied the game winning run on a throwing error. Wright led the Muskies' offense in the second game with a pair of singles. NEXT-- Muskingum (8-9) returns to action Friday with a doubleheader at Heidelberg College starting at 1 p.m.
