Several local players, coaches set to take part in Pepsi/District 12 Basketball All-Star Games

The rosters have been announced for the annual Pepsi/District 12 Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Game and several local players will be participating. The games, featuring senior standouts in an East vs. West format, are slated for Friday, April 9 at Buckeye Trail High School. The girls' game will tip off at 6 p.m., with the boys' game to follow at approximately 8 p.m. Several special awards will be presented throughout the evening, including the various "Player of the Year" and "Coach of the Year" selections; a series of special awards and the Class of 2010 for the District 12 Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Local players competing include Cody Nelson of Buckeye Trail, Wes Rataiczak of Shenandoah and Dalton Smith of Barnesville on the East boys' team; Jeramie Neff of Meadowbrook, Ryan Hatmaker of Cambridge, Avery Allender and Rob Metry of John Glenn on the West boys' team; Julie bates of Buckeye Trail, Mariah Miller of Barnesville and Cali Ginn of Shenandoah on the East girls' team; and Carly Kehn of Cambridge on the West girls' team. All four of the coaches are local as well -- Chris Pack of Barnesville (East boys), Greg Woodard of John Glenn (West boys), John Ferguson of Buckeye Trail (East girls) and Tom Strasser of Meadowbrook (West girls).
