John Glenn Football Boosters New York City Redeye
The John Glenn Football Boosters are sponsoring a Lakefront Lines motor coach to New York City for a day of sightseeing, the bus will leave from John Glenn High School on Friday, June 11 at 9:30 p.m. You will arrive at the Rockefeller Center at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 12, see the sights and return to meet the bus at 9:30 p.m. You will arrive back at JGHS around 7 a.m. on Sunday, June 13. Cost for the trip will be $100 per person, a portion of your ticket cost will go to support the John Glenn football program. If we cannot fill the bus, the trip will have to be cancelled and your money will be refunded. If you are interested in reserving your seat, please contact Dawn Allender at 255-7114 or Coach Kelley at 826-7774. Reservations are being taken now and the cost is due by May 1.
John Glenn Sports Physicals for 2010-11
Physical examinations for next year will take place Saturday, May 15 at the Genesis Health Care building in New Concord for all John Glenn student-athletes in grades 7-12. All athletes are required to have a physical in order to participate in sports. Parents/athletes must fill out the history portion and pages 3-4 of the physical form and return the physical form to the high school office by Monday, May 3 which will serve as a pre-registration. The schedule of times for the physicals on May 15 is 8-10 a.m. for all 10th, 11th and 12th grade students and 10 a.m.-12 noon for 7th, 8th and 9th grade students. Physicians and staff from the Genesis Healthcare System and SEORMC Sports Medicine and Rehab will be performing the physicals. Cost for the examination is $10 for all high school and middle school students. If paying by check, please make the check payable to John Glenn High School. Payments must be made the day of the physical.
Muskingum University Football Golf Outing
The Muskingum University football golf outing, slated Friday, June 4 at 1 p.m. at Zanesville’s Jaycees’ Golf Club, is now accepting registrations. The cost is $85 per person and includes 18-holes of golf, cart and dinner following the outing. Proceeds will be used to assist with the purchase of computers for the players’ lounge and recruiting. Muskingum University Roundball Camp
The 40th annual Muskingum University Roundball Camp is now accepting registrations. The camp runs June 27-July 1 and is for any boy entering grades 5-10. The cost is $320 per person. All campers will be housed in the University dormitories and receive three meals per day. At Camp Muskingum this summer, special attention will be given to these fundamentals: passing, receiving, dribbling and shooting. Each camper will be given instruction by experienced coaches to develop their offensive capabilities to that camper’s maximum potential.
