Muskingum Valley League announces scholarship[ winners

The Muskingum Valley League announced the winners of its annual Red, White and Blue Scholarships, selected at the athletic directors’ meeting in April.

The two, one time, non-renewable $500 scholarships are given to one male and one female senior athlete who have participated in a MVL recognized sport.

Abbey Brooks is a senior at John Glenn High School. She carries a 3.5 grade-point average and is active in National Honor Society, Student Council, Key Club, Ski Club, volleyball, track and Fellowship of Christian Students. She is also a member of 4-H, her church youth group and she volunteers in the church nursery, at Vacation Bible School and at numerous community service projects. She plans to continue her studies at Muskingum College, where she will major in special education.

Ted Loewendick is a senior at West Muskingum High School. He holds a 3.95 grade-point average and is a four-year varsity letterman in golf and a academic all-Ohioan. He has been class treasurer for four years, a member of Future Business Leaders of America, School Beautification Project, Recycling Drive and St. Thomas Catholic Church. He plans on continuing his education at Ohio Northern University, majoring in pharmacy.
