Ashland University junior Logan Hursey (John Glenn) wrapped up her season by earning Daktronics, Inc. All-Mideast Region honors, gaining first team as a designated player and second team as a pitcher. Ashland fell short of a spot in the NCAA Division II World Series, falling twice to Wright State University in the Super Regionals after winning three games in the Midwest Regional.
For the season, Hursey batted .381 (second on the team) with 56 hits in 147 at-bats; 14 doubles, two triples, eight home runs (team high); 45 RBI (tied for team lead) and five stolen bases. On the mound, she was 13-8 with a 1.67 earned-run average, posting 114 strikeouts and 33 walks in 129.2 innings of work. She also had a .959 fielding percentage.
Hursey was also a repeat selection on the all-GLIAC first team.
