NEW CONCORD — Muskingum University junior Demetrius Bailey concluded his outstanding triple jump season at the 2010 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Baldwin-Wallace College on Saturday.
Bailey, who was competing in the national championship triple jump for the second consecutive year, logged jumps of 44-2.50, 45-4.25 and 44-0.50 in the opening flight of the 17-person field.
He qualified for nationals with his school-record-tying and Ohio Athletic Conference Championship jump of 48-3.25. Bailey will return his senior season having won 20 of his last 26 meets in the triple jump.
