East Ohio Soccer Officials Training Class The East Ohio Soccer Officials Association will offer a class for those wishing to become high school soccer officials. The class will meet at OU-Zanesville on Tuesday and Thursday evenings for eight weeks beginning Tuesday, July 27. Completion of the class will allow you to officiate high school and junior high school soccer matches. For more information, contact Steve Wootton at 260-0535. EOSAY Soccer Registration Eastern Ohio Soccer Association for Youth registration for the 2010 season is under way, with the deadline to enter on Saturday, July 31. Parents may sign up children ages 4-12 (as of 7/31) by mailing in the form available through www.eosay.com or in person July 26 from 6-8 p.m. at New Concord Village Hall. The cost is $45 per child (additional children $40) and checks should be made payable to EOSAY. Practices will begin the week of August 16, with games played every Sunday from Sept. 12 to Oct. 31. Free Sports Camp in New Concord There will be a free sports camp held in New Concord for kids that have just completed kindergarten through fifth grade July 26th-28 from 9-11:30 a.m. Students interested should meet at the New Concord Pavilion across from the elementary school. Sports instruction will be given for soccer, softball, baseball and basketball. The Sports Camp is sponsored by Friendship Baptist Church. For more information, call 826-4479. Muskie Football Camp at John Glenn The annual Muskie Football Camp for youngsters entering grades 5-8 will take place July 26-28 at John Glenn High School in New Concord. The camp, conducted by the varsity football staff and 2010 seniors, will run from 9-11 a.m. daily. The cost is $25 per youngster and checks should be made payable to Muskie FB Camp. Players should report to the practice field wearing shorts T-shirt and athletic shoes. The camp will include individual instruction, division of groups by age, learning new skills, improvement of techniques, a camp visor and razzle-dazzle football action.
