The John Glenn Muskies are headed to week 12 for the first time since 2005. On Friday November 3rd the Muskies took on the Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs coming out on top 48-21 to move onto week 12. The Muskies play this Friday November 10th at Zanesville High School against the Licking Valley Panthers at 7:30. Pre-sale tickets are being sold at John Glenn High School Tuesday 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Wednesday 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m, and Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. the price of the pre-sale tickets are $8 and John Glenn gets $1 back for every pre-sale ticket sold. Tickets at the gate are $9, pre-sale tickets are also being sold at Century National Bank in New Concord. This past Friday’s game was the first playoff victory for John Glenn in 12 years. The Muskies scored on the opening possession of the game with a 4-yard touchdown run by Shane Bonner. After his score he intercepted a pass to set up a 1-yard touchdown run for himself. Casey Smith caught a 33-yard touchdown pass, Gavin Thompson caught a 7-yard touchdown pass, and Score Perkins caught a 15-yard pass for a touchdown. The Muskies built a 27-0 lead before the Bulldogs scored with 12 seconds remaining in the first half. Leading the offense for John Glenn was Shane Bonner with 152 yards rushing on 26 carries along with 5 caught passes for 75 yards and a touchdown.
Licking Valley got there first shutout of the season last Friday in their first playoff game against Unioto with a score of 42-0. The Panthers have a record of 11-0 heading into week 12. The Licking Valley Panthers were state runner up in 2003 and 2007, this was also their first 10-0 regular season in 12 years. This was the Panthers first playoff win since their 2010 win against East Liverpool. The winner of this game will play the winner of the Philo/Indian Valley game for the regional final game Friday November 17th.
